A major international manufacturer of fine writing instruments and more, the A.T. Cross Company has been in business for more than 150 years. During that time Cross has re-invented writing instruments, combining design ingenuity with jewelry-quality craftsmanship. They were America’s first manufacturer of quality writing instruments, which means they’ve been making pens people use, depend upon, and enjoy, for a long time. Richard Cross, a highly skilled pen and pencil maker, founded the company in 1846, and shared the business with his son, Alonzo Townsend Cross. In 1916, the Cross family sold the company to Walter R. Boss, whose grandsons continue the tradition of excellent standards. The quality of their pens is evidenced by their popularity. People expect more from Cross, and their fine products ensure no one is disappointed. Located in Lincoln, RI, just outside Providence, Cross continues to make products of great value, one at a time and by hand, just as Richard Cross did. |
