The remarkable monstrosity of 20,000 Leagues under the Sea is rendered along the body of the limited edition Jules in elegant 18k gold. Named after Jules Verne, author of the classic novel, the title is also a play on the word "jewels." Each 3-dimensional sculptural filigree of the giant squid bears eyes of genuine red Burmese rubies or blue Ceylon sapphires (your choice). The solid gold cap comprises the form of the squid's body and accounts for more than half of the weight. The tapered, deep blue Italian resin body is overlaid by the precious metal tentacles. When the two halves of the pen come together, the sea creature is a stunning example of the lost wax casting art. To release the squid's ink, simply remove the cap for a rollerball or fountain pen with an 18k gold nib decorated with a hand-textured Nautilus, the name of the submarine in Verne's famous novel.
