Using lost wax casting, the Alchemist pen evokes the elements of earth, wind, fire and water in its fine details. The entire pen interprets the cosmos based upon criteria from medieval science. The cap and barrel are populated with spheres that represent the seven alchemical processes. The cap end is decorated with a sun and moon, with a rotating band that provides the tactile sensation of time winding. Finely textured, engraved resin contrasts beautifully with accents of solid sterling silver. The other noble metal, gold, is set into the clip and the pyramid, or Divine Eye, on the cap end. The pocket clip even opens, just as a cartographer’s drawing compass! The fountain pen’s nib bears an engraving of an alchemical icon, the peacock. The Alchemist is presented in an antiqued wooden box with metal fitments, suede lining and cloth pouch.
