Armando Simoni founded OMAS (Officina Meccanica "mechanical factory" Armando Simoni) in 1925 with the philosophy that a pen should exemplify the pleasure of writing. His fascination with the artistry and equilibrium of ancient Greek architecture led to the signature Greek frieze pattern on Omas caps. Distinguished by inventiveness, aesthetics, and all things mechanical, Simonis company grew and is now viewed as a classic in the world of luxury fountain pens. In 1958, his daughter Raffaella, and her husband took over, with their son joining them in 1983 as a worthy heir to the family tradition. He has pursued the quest for the same harmony and perfection of the proud standards first set by the House of Omas. Today each Omas pen is individually crafted through thirty-two separate actions and over the course of one hundred days, with a focus on producing greatly flexible nibs. Omass attention to the finest details produces instruments that are gems, full of the beauty and precision that will enhance the pleasure of all your writing moments.
